I had another good game with lextat. This was probably one of the best I have ever played, in terms of making very few mistakes. Here are both the start and ending screeny.

* Prior to the start, I drew in his muddy by blocking scout LOS and paralyzing his LW. If he didn't defocus, the LW was dead. I went on to sacrifice my knight for his muddy, a good trade since I used a furgon. I then kept presuring that LW while putting up shrubs so the frosties could not move. He eventually moved his scout to hit my frost, and I blocked his BR and knights from the frosty, and proceeded to immobilize the scout. It went downhill for my opponent from there.

This one was a toughy. I played a wardless corner turtle and he started with a dual cleric frontline center rush. It started with me trying to contain his beastie from hitting both clerics. I froze it first, trying to draw in his muddy, but he was smart and used the scout. And, do to some bad geometry by me, I could not shrub the area I needed to. I ended up sacrificing a cleric and blocking off LOS. I was finally able to freeze his mud, and kill it off.

My frosty had about 39, and I decided that was enough to use him as bait for a scout shot. So I moved him up to freeze a knight, and like I planned he needed to unfreeze from a certain spot. I killed a shrub of mine and furgoned elsewhere, and froze his scout. This was the turning point, I killed his scout with mine, in combination with my mud. Meanwhile, he was trying to get to my frosty with a knight and beastie, but by the time he was in range, the scout was dead, and frosty had recovered.

He decided to cut his losses and retreat with his remaining 4 attacking units. Up till this point, I had basically sacrficed one of my clerics for his muddy, scout, and knight. I just needed to launch and attack now, and set up a frosty trap for my retreating units. Great game.

1500+ win, that's nice.
I remember I was going to beat you then I missclicked, thank God it wasn't on my account. ^^

But you said you used a turt without a LW, I'm going to try this out, I will put in a second frost or second cleric.
But, how do you cope in same side games with no LW?

Lol... Yeah but I didn't have a frosty in that game But its true, you would have been 2 pieces up after that (an LW and Muddy). But you lost only 2 points of stat lol).

So for same sides, here is what I do: I take the initial LW blow, and if I see an opening, I charge in. If not, I gradually shift all of my units to the opposite side of my side of the board, basically reducing pressure on my knights. I start shifting the back, and then the front. Basically making it easier for me to make a same side flank run, and to make it an opposite sides game. Sounds corny, but it is effective.

Although, I got beat by a same side double frost set, which was just too much for me to handle. But in essence, an LW would not have helped me much, and it gives me one additional mobile unit. Also, given that I have a frost and furgon now, I don't need the structural attributes that an LW would provide to my form. I can substitute blocking units with shrubs, and ward units away with frosty.

And, no doubt, I can freeze a same side LW. This forces them to usually make the mistake of immediately defocussing with muddy or scout. Either way, I get a range unit in that case. Something more valuable than a knight of mine, which still has the chance to block (lucky or not).

I made a set. I tried it on my bro's account against a 1400+ grey.
But fortunately it was opp side, so the game was mine.

I used 2 clerics instead of 2 frosts. It's great, thanks for the idea.

No problem, the actual set I used can be seen in the rate the form above yours thread. I used that with the scout moved up one (I don't know why he was back one to begin with in my form screeny). Basically, I am using an extra cleric in place of an LW. This gives me a huge advantage in an opp side game, and I can hold my own due to the extra healing on same sides.

I only have 1 frost anyhow, I don't have the option of two lol.

Revitalize!

Just had a nice game with jaicouru, a 1460+ ChaosGladiator. I was using my wardless formation, and was at a slight disadvantage being same side to an LW. But, I got first turn, and he got unlucky with his scout position, and I paralyzed it 1st turn. Then, it was a matter of me breaking barrier focus, and killing units off. gg!
