since hunt didnt follow the rules ;) i will rate essence's form.
i give it a 6ish because 1st when BW needs to be used, it will be wide open, any same side would just slaughter this form, and any opp turt could easily defend against it. now, for my set i will show u my dropless turt and my rush. i hope it is ok to post 2 set's please tell me what u think ![]() ![]() and now for turt, woops, move witch 1 space back ![]() Last edited by pils; 11-12-2006 at 02:11 AM. |

I'll only be rating the top one, not much to consider in dropless play.
So to the first form then. Personally I don't like it, it's a one-sided grey line. Well as one-sided as grey lines get. It seems that you are trying to simply kill kill kill. The problem I see is that vs a grey turt it really would not be effective on either side in killing the cleric quickly. I think this form also is quite hurt by the new rules about turn wait. When you play against someone using a lightning ward they will get the witch on it's side for free which puts you down a unit instantly. I see it being most effective vs freestyle golds, but still not that effective in general. 5/10 Rather average. Digital Gypsy Saga ![]() Strategy/Purpose: Deception to be honest. The form looks open but it closes up faster than a race horse. If you use the wisp prudently you will be fine, and the offset LW is in a great spot. Opposite Side Games: It plays like a regular turtle except your lw actually covers you better and the knight starts closer which saves you a turn. Same Side Games: Same side games are melee contests and this form does fine. You have to make sure to close up the center quickly though. Weaknesses: Same side cluster rushes would be strong on it but I think I could still win. Last edited by Gypsy; 11-12-2006 at 02:38 AM. |

Yes, that form is strong, but a stoned Scout/Mud/BR charge backed up by DT might break it. Even if the Cleric is stoned, a well-placed attack will eventually kill him. Not for the faint of heart. I'll give it 8/10.
(But what do I know?) ![]() Fort Treacherous Tactical considablahblah... This setup is deceptively open, but the Furgon is in position to cover both sides quickly. Power is concentrated about the LW, and nothing survives very long in that area. A form set on either side would have difficulty attacking this. Defends pretty well against sided rushes. Cleric can be moved to either side. All units have high HP, another plus. Well-timed spread rushes may pose a problem to this formation. Pros: - Units have high HP - Furgon covers both flanks - Can fool opponent into letting guard down Cons: - May be difficult to attack the enemy - Mud Golem is easily killed if not used properly A difficult form to use, but can work wonders if mastered.

Romalice's Form:
mmm, a dropless form. I guess we must all start with one of these sometime .I think its a fairly decent dropless turt, although your outside flank is quite exposed. The placement of the witch kind of restricts her ability to serve as an intimidation factor, so i'd put it where the scout is. That way, it may prevent opponent's from attempting to flank you, as well as it is in a position to kill centered cleric in default form in 2 moves. After moving the witch, i'd probably do one of two things. Put scout/assassin 2 spaces left of witch, to extend knight wall, and to be in a good position to flank a same side turtle. Also, you could take out assassin and put scout there and put in a pyro where the witch used to be. hope that helps... Rating: 7/10 because of witch placement and open flank. 8-9/10 with any of the changes. Now onto my form.... (i'll post it in a few minutes, sorry, have a tao game-related error which messes up the computer, almost triples game font, and doesn't allow me to open another screen... alot of bad things.. lol any help would be appreciated, brb!) *You can see the font in the screenie. ![]() The form I am currently using, my Double Beast Double Cleric Aggro Turt or Des†ruc†ion's Demise: Pros: - great manuverability within form, as well as outside it. - collapsability; quickly adapt form to situation - constant aggressive style; to keep opponent on defensive, allowing user to control game - double cleric for endurance - several semi-ranged units; mud, scout, beasts quickly infiltrate opponent's form and be able to counter paralyzing units (chanty and frost) - frost to protect clerics - 3 knights; raw power and with double clerics to back them up, they are just as potent as the beast riders. - shines in opposite side games Cons: - no lightning ward; quite risky for a less experienced grey player, but with this aggro form, you'd want to take advantage of mobile units. - several units w/ low blocking and/or health (mud, frost, BRs, Scout); resoning for including 2 clerics - fairly dependent on melee damage, very little unblockable damgage; beasts allow for rear attacking 100% chance of hit, almost as good as witch and pyro in terms of damage and certainty in damage. - same side games are more difficult, but with beasts, to flank, one can still do well. I guess thats the bulk of what i have to say. Eh, I really this, and i think it is an excellent form for me. Oh yes, one can adapt their own arrangement of the units to their own style... such as moving the frost and mud around within the form *something i do constantly- so indecisive XD Yep, well hope you guys feel the same ;) and give it the rating you think it deserves. so what would you suggest i do? I've taken Gypsy's advice and updated to adobe flash player 9, but it still doesn't solve the problem. I think the problem is not just limited to TAO, but maybe a tao-related virus which also affects my computer as well.
