Wanting Some Feedback

Well I'm trying a new set. Usually I test it ad nauseum on multiple accounts. However, I've been having a problem lately, too many sucky players that leave early. I would appreciate some feedback on this formation and how you think it would fare. I just don't have the want and time (leaving Friday) to test this formation right now. So far I've only logged 14 games with it on various accounts. Thanks a bunch.

Is this the set that I played against with you? It looks somewhat similair. Anyway, its looks pretty solid. I love that LW position, as it can usually zap witches in rushes, and its just very nice placement. The only thing I would say is consider moving the mud. Potshots and LW would do some damage to it.

Nah, different set, it had a witch in it. I started using this earlier today.

The mud is there to be aggressive. Maybe one space back wouldn't hurt, but I'd hate to waste a turn to get into an aggressive position when I can retreat it if need be. Hmm...

Well its not a bad spot, and with a bw you can easily protect it from those threats. Its just what I thought when I looked at it.

It was a good thought, I may try it both ways after my vacation.

Yeah it looks pretty solid. The mud could go back but you like the aggression. There is nothing wrong with a little retreat. Turtles take long so there is no rush.

I usually end up falling back, and playing the end-game on my side of the board (almost always, especially against better players), I just like the initial aggression in this set. It's mostly to pose a threat and cover more focus breaking range.

Yeah I get you. The threat acts as pressure for the opponent even in the beginning of the match. If the LW is in the right place the mud golem is pretty much begging for a strike. So what you should do is find a way to counter his attack. Of course you will retreat your mud. But what i mean by counter is by maybe going offensive while his LW is in wait.

If its opposite sides your mud golem is alrady in a great position to flank, along with your knight, and scout.

I like the mud position though now that i think of it.

Psh.

them using the LW on the mud is stupid on their part, when you can easily retreat and heal or bring in your other units without having to worry about the 30 unblockable

maybe find an opening to pick at their cleric with your scout after they use the LW, and they'll stop worrying about your mud real quick

No, using the LW on the mud is extremely sensible. It would mean that if Gypsy sent it in and then barriered it, it would probably be on 8HP when it retreats instead of 38HP. Big difference. Might be the difference between quaking twice and quaking 3-4 times.

It's also extremely open to good flanking moves from the right flank. A couple of knights backed up by scout and perhaps mud will have your freezers and cleric in exchange for perhaps 2 knights, and after that all they have to do is snipe your scout and mud and clean up with their own freezers. You've got to be attacking if you're leaving that flank that open.
