Dropless Help
Lately I have been playing some dropless games. I have been doing good when forced on the defense side. But for most opp games and center games people just sit back and wait for me to go attack. Is it my set or the way I attack in which when I do attack I fail miserably. I usually attack with 2 knights an assasin and my scout. I usually get blocked off and lw'd to death.
Help? I usually do end up killing a witch and a cleric and sometimes the rare mud. But then I only have a witch a knight and chanty to deal with 3 knights and a scout. I have been using Girshwin's and Fallens off-centered turts. And then with all the scout and witch blocks I have had against me, it doesn't make it any better.... ![]() Last edited by Fearliss; 07-22-2008 at 07:13 PM. |

What you have to do is think about the situation you are in. Just use bait.

Ya I read Xia's Deception little guide and I think it helped me a bit. I got the hang of when and how to go on the offense. I feel IMO that center wardless sets for dropless help to give you more of an advantage in any game because you can go offense or stay defense. And the set manuevers around you

You shouldn't be going after the witch and cleric then. Every game is different. Go after whatever units are the least protected and that INCLUDES knights.

You're doing something very wrong. Defending in a dropless game with a center
? And doing good? ![]() ![]() ![]() Center sets are all about attack, you simply can't defend succesfully in a grey game in general, and especially so when using a center. So yeah, stop defending, and focus more on offense. If other player just turtles, you've basically already won the game. If you can't break in immediately, just improve your positioning gradually, try to induce weaknesses. They can't do anything at all after they commit themselves to complete defense because counterattacking at that point would create serious gaps in their camp. Sooner or later there will be an opportunity to kill something. I dont know how many games i've won like that. Its the most pleasant type of game imaginable, you simply can do whatever you want with your opponent. The only hope for them is you overextending. I honestly dont see why would someone commit themselves to such a torture .And here's one game from GS4, where my opponent decided to defend. He usually gives me quite good games, but this time it was just a cakewalk. Skev21 vs lemon on Vimeo Hope it helps somewhat. |
