Golem Ambusher.
As you guys know, i'm a more experienced grey fighter than i am at gold. So, i have a question:
What is the purpose of the Golem Ambusher, asides from killing the cleric, and being able to deal 2 more damage than the scout, without Line of sight... i don't see any other use for it. Seed could have created a much more unique unit in it's place. I do understand that it is very handy to have another ranged unit, to counter frosts and such but it seems to die right at the start of games... Can the Golem Ambusher be used effectivly for turt? If you guys could explain more about this unit, and it's uses i would apreciate it! |

Yeah that's what i thought, it seems that's like it's only purpose, that along with hitting frost golems. It looks cool when it throws the rocks but there could be a much more useful unit created in it's place...

I am grey on TAO but I think that a good way to use the ambusher could be on the inside of a turt with a frosty or two. By this I mean that if you could freeze a unit, from behind a wall of knights for eg, with the frost and then attack it from a distance, and safety of behind the wall with the scout and ambusher. I may be wrong because ive never used it but this seems to be a pretty good us of the ambusher to me. Hope Ive Helped!

Same side it is very good for 3 reasons attack cleric, attack frost , attack somthing that is fleeing like a scout or mud dragon or what ever.
As for opp side its just one more ranged unit which as we can only use one scout may be needed. |

The GA is great for pushing your opponent back in opp. side games. You can keep your distance and force his dragon to retreat with your GA and scout.. then move your knights in and force them on the defensive. And as you slowly move their way you should advance the GA and in some cases kill/pressure their cleric and frost.
As for same side games its not always the best strategy to trade your ga for a hit on their cleric. Its not a sure kill and your GA can serve you much better in late game. I usually try to pressure their cleric with my dragon and try to take it that way... And if you can keep your ga alive 15 damage to knight's is very useful. Sometimes I'm able to get my GA behind their knight wall attacking them for free hits. So yeah.. you just have to keep it alive for it to be effective... and keep attacking with it. |
