Gg?

So me and Chiefst were playing a game. I was on Da'Alavon, and we were both using single gold rush. Ok, 2 the point we played the game and as the end came closer it was turning out 2 be a good game. So i said gg and then he says "What? You think you won?" I didnt mean to offend him but there was no reason for him 2 get so mad. My question is that is it o.k to say gg when the game is coming to an end? By the way, it was a draw. No s/s provided but you can ask him if you dont believe me. Feedback?

usually gg is said at the end of the game - at least from what ive seen - i say gg when the game is winding down and the victor is obvious or after the game ends

i see where he was coming from - to be safe i say this is a great game or something like that that doesnt imply its the end (gg has that implication nowadays)

"gg" just means good game, doesn't matter if you win or lose, or a draw.
And yes like Red said, ''gg'' should be said near the end or at the end of the game, or when victory is obvious. Saying ''gg'' just means you had a good game, you liked it, and somewhat being polite in my opinion.

Wow saying gg... I mean a comment turning into an insult. Why? He was being a bit... idk the word. Arrogant maybe? Maybe it was my fault, though he said things like "I havent got to be one of the best players in Tao... " sonething like that. Idk though next time i play a Good game i wont say it until the end.

I used to say gg in my first turn in games against legends_predator to piss him off as much as i could. On the second turn i usually asked why he was still playing since he had lost already. Than he started cursing, it was a lot fun.

I used 2 do that 2 RAHAN since throughout the game he curses, regardless of the game and if he is winning or losing.

RAHAN is a booster, and a bad sport. I remember once when he cursed at omega, then he got banned and went on another computer repeatedly. He was obviously at the library. He has no life.
