The Perfect Form
Hello everyone. Some of you from the FPS Forums might be familiar with this, but I just wanted to try it here on Legends since there is a much larger variety of formations with the one scout only and rare unit drops.
This thread was originally created by monkus on the FPS forums, so props to him for that. Basically the idea is simple (yeah right), we're trying to find a gold formation with the best possible chance of beating ANY kind of setup that it is matched up against. It will obviously not always have the advantage, but we're looking for one with the least number of disadvantages, something that can hold its own against turts, rushes, antis, and bombs alike. I'm interested in hearing everyone's ideas, this should lead to some good discussions. If you post a formation, please explain the positives and negatives to that formation and why you think it is the "Perfect Form." Here is the original thread, you can use this as a reference as to what I am looking for here: http://www.tacticsarena.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=26326 Oh yeah, if you say NJ rush, I will kill you. ![]() Last edited by mantis33; 06-09-2008 at 11:38 PM. |

There is no "perfect form". One form will always beat another if you want to say it that way. But truthfully, it's how you play with the form.

Wow, this started just like monkus's. I already stated that no matter what, there is always going to be some disadvantages, this thread is looking for the sets with the LEAST number of disadvantages in an anything goes, freestyle match.

Now this thread is looking for a set that is in no way "Perfect" as no set can ever be "Perfect" but a set that has an equal shot against any category of set. A set that you can feel confident to Open Square Challenge with and not care what set you get jumped by. Now obviously a set that has a huge advantage against every other set is out of the question. It just can't be done. but a set that has no huge disadvantage to any category is within the realms of possibility. To start with I feel that a Perfect form is probably going to be Centred, as if your form is centred and both sides are balanced well you don't really care what side your opponent is on and many forms you see around today are banking on getting an easy kill on a cornered sets Cleric so you'll have your best shot of avoiding those GA, Mud, Wisp etc that will be heading for you first turn in the Side Rushes you so often see.

the thread has been made before Search for the Almost Perfect form(s) [Grey]: Search brought to Legends
and since Xiahou Dun said something about center sets then this might be good. ![]()
