New Features and Explanations

Im going to attempt to figure out all of the new features, and functions with the updated vb program Prophet added to the forums.

Features

Permalinks link to the actual post in a thread. They are located on the top right in yellow as seen here.

Linkback is a feature which lets you view the link to a page on a thread.

Which Brings up This Window

Giving you the link to the thread, which is basically the same as viewing the top of an address bar.

And explanation of LinkBacks can be found here.

Diggs, Furls, technorati, and del.

Also you will notice underneath each post is four links:

These are digg, del.ico.us, technorati, and Furl.

These let you make a complication of certain posts and threads.
You can add it to your list by clicking one of these buttons, after signing up, it will prompt you with something like the following:

After your thread/link is submitted through one of the 4 sites, they come up as links with your descriptions such as the following:

This is rather time consuming, and altogether is basically the same as making a subscription, except you can save page links, and right your own notes or descriptions on important threads.

More to be added, if you have anything to share I will add as well.

permalink gives you the link to a specific post in a thread, rather than just to the thread or the page number.

It does exactly the same as clicking the number in the top right corner of each post did, except that you are still viewing the thread page, just directed to the post.

Permalinks are basically the link to the thread that will never change - instead of those confusing numbers - now we have words that reference the threads that google can find

trackbacks let both LF and the site you post it to (if they have it) that that link was clicked and keeps track of it

Heh, I was wondering what those new icons were for at the bottom of our sigs. Good job explaining things s3ro, they all seem like interesting and helpful features/additions to the forums.
