Get a Clan for Your Grey

(OK, either i have stumbled upon a great idea... or extremely stupid one... please vote in poll and tell me what you think.)


Well, I was looking around the forums and Phoenix inspired me to have an idea about how to get a clan for your new grey account.

Info: When you first start playing TAO on you're new grey account, it may seem fun but after a while it seems kind of boring to just play by yourself. So why not join a clan! But wait a minute, your stats are really low and you can't get into a clan you want!

IDEA: Well, I have come up with an idea for this problem. You can post in this thread and ask to join a specific clan or simply post your "resumee" and hope a good clan will accept you into theirs based on your skills, personality, activity and etc...

*If you guys like the idea please vote and if yes, hopefully people would find it easier to join a clan they want and be with their friends and have fun.*

It's no different posting here than asking on tao. Begging isn't going to get you into a clan. Get your stats and skills up and beat some good people. Once you do that people will start to notice you and invite you.

I would not consider it "begging". I think its a good idea because sometimes its a little hard for even with a person who has some skill to get up to lets say 1200+ and it takes a while too.

This is an idea that I actually like. It is realistic and could make a good change. I still think a tryout covers all them things though, because you can talk to them and such, etc. One problem I see with this is that people might try to lie.

Thats why there are clan recruitment threads. If u want a gray in a clan, u can discuss it in their clans recruitment thread. You dont have to make a new thread with a seperate post hoping that leaders of certain clans see the post.

If the poll is passed i will make a new thread and make a few rules about it... and the leader can always give the person a test if they need to. I think this might support clan recruitment a lil too and give the new-comers/ihaveskillbutdonthaveaclan people some fun.

Edit: It might also help the people understand you better. Also, some of the people don't know if a certain clan will accept them and if they get a big "NO" in their face, it might discourage them... This would be a nice place to post because if its passed, the leaders of clan or clan members might like the person too. Also, there wouldn't have to be a million new threads in the clan recruitment section hoping to get into a clan, and wats most likely gotta happen people are just gonna say oh thats a nobody and then ignore him instead where you can post here.

Basically, i think it would be a good place just for everybody to post here and the leaders could look here once in a while and if they like a member who is trying out for one instead of spamming it on TAO "LOOKING FOR A CLAN!" here would be a great place to post

First time I saw those two words in the same paragraph made by you.

Not a bad idea, but there is a forum section for clan recruitments already.

Exactly. The clan recruitment threads were made for a reason so people should use them.

Decent idea, but the best clans are already known and have stat requirements. Otherwise, clan recruitment threads can easily be used. Anyone can ask for a tryout through a pm or etc. any time.
