People are lazy.

With MSN, you only add people you want to talk to after you know they're worth chatting with. Unlike a chat system that would be integrated in LF, stuck down your screen, letting you browse normally, but with a chat. That would let us get to know members we would have never tought we'd even add to our MSN.

I've been trying a couple times to convince people, but until they actually get to try it, they seem too stubborn agaisnt changes.

If you want a good exemple of an integrated chat, go to Welcome to netnexus.com, make a quick account and join the chatroom. That's EXACTLY what we need for LF, and now that we have a qualified programmer (BrutalRage), I see no reason why this shouldnt be here -.-

No. Trillian blows all kinds of things, the layout is terrible and it massively caps your transfer speed unless you pay for pro (I'd assume you have to pay, I never looked into it though tbh). I'd sooner use Pidgin (which I do from my flash drive on other computers) but I use MSN live usually.

The current version of trillian is far outdated (and no longer plays well with the proticols) I'm talking about pre-release Trillian Astra - new version that isn't public yet...

alpha testing = one version, course will be split up into pro and basic later on.

Yeah, the whole pro thing is why I don't like it. Paying for im service = bad. Too many good free ways to do it that don't cap your transfer rate. I was trying to send some stuff when I was on vacation (I was downloading at 500kbps roughly on rapidshare links, so I was downloading anime episodes at a decent clip) and Trillian capped it somewhere around good dial-up levels. :|

i have my gripes with cerulean studios (trillian's makers) - they seem to be a lazy group of coders who've had "astra" in alpha for nearly three years.......

pidgin is currently better than trillian....
