New Members Suggestion

I don't know common procedure. But my suggestion is that, to give new members a 24 hour grace period from their first post, to get acquainted with the rules before getting reinforcement(warn/fract).

I suggest this because I see so many new members break rules within their first day, and it goes downhill from there whether they are good people or not.

New members are told about the rules via pm or post feedback before even sent a warning. There are, however, only so many times a rule can be said before the badges are dealt.

People that break rules are just trying to make trouble.

Ever heard of LURK MOAR? If they would simply lurk for like 30 minutes before making their account they could read all of the rules.

They have this rule over at the FPS Forums. When you make an account, it says you must wait 24 hours before making your 1st post.
I don't think it's a good idea because wether or not the nubs wait 24 hours or post as soon as they sign up, they're probably not going to read the rules.

I'm trying to envision what I could do with 24 free hours. I'd have to stay up for maximum pleasure.

These guys have a point, there are so many trouble makers out there, give them 24 hours and they could cause major disturbances...

The idea behind this suggestion is a good one. However, were all aware that we have people who create mutiple accounts etc. It just gives them more oppurtunity if they wanted to spam or break the rules.

A good idea, but one with too much risk in my opinion.

EDIT: Now i realize ten people have said the same thing -.-
