Forum Guilds

Ok im not sure how it works but basically their are x Number of guilds, which are like clubs.

So for example

Players Guild (for legends forums players)
Graphics Guild (for people who associate with graphics)
Forum Games Guild (people who love the games section)
Intellectuals Guild (people who like discussions)
CAU Guild (Cau unit fans)
Moderators Guild (mods/staff)

Basically the guilds are like a forum, where everyone of the guilds may discuss. This is different then clubs, or different concept basically.

Each person may only join 1 guild. And leader is whoever would make sense for that Guild, such as CAU - Gypsy, Players - Darkness, Graphics - Lad, etc....

A person may apply to any guild, however it is best for them to join a guild best suited for them. (for similar discussions)

Every x months Guilds will get together and do friendly competitions, and the winning guild gets some prize.

For example one competition Might be,

5 People from each Guild Will Represent their guild in the competition,

So events would be something along the lines of, (or anything really)

1. Gfx Sig
2. Game Match
3. Forum Game/Chain Challenge
4. Create A Unit challenge
5. Debate on a topic

The purpose of this, is to be fun, but also to get people interested in different aspects of the forum and or game. And to grow community awareness.

Clubs are rather stagnant atm, so I thought this would be a interesting suggestion and totally different from what we have right now.

Very nice. I like the whole concept. Except their is the possibility that no one would participate. If this was made, people would probably just hang around and post at LF as a whole.

Just like the events at the PP bud, no one is really interested......

But I do like the idea.

I like it a whole lot, but I think... instead of this being a suggestion its more like a "Game".

It could be possibly made tough. GL and if theres needed a poll to vote in, Ill give you a hand

It should be considered towards replacing the clubs.
Of course, you have to realize people will make a big deal about not getting excepted/approved/the requirements, etc.

I don't really like clubs/guilds/etc so much because it divides the community up.

It'll be fun for everyone for a few weeks and then it will die just like the clubs- nice idea but impractical in the long run.

It sounded good up until here. So basically TAO Players aren't allowed to discuss things? Sig makers aren't allowed to play TAO? Almost nobody in this forum is here for one aspect of it alone.

Also I refuse to use any system called "Guilds" This terminology offends me.

I like the idea though i think i agree with Xiahou that you should be able to join multiple Guilds

If you can join multiple "guilds" then there would be the problem of who would compete for what "guild" in the competitions, there will be spying, etc.

, and it would fall apart again. As sina said too, it really *if it works* would divide the forums up, and then there would be no smart topics in the general forums, no graphics in the gfx section, etc.

Also, the Mods/Staff section, and the 1 "guild" concept, either that section would be uberly inactive, or there would be 10 at most.

Just to point this out too, Mods/Staff already have sections to discuss whatever. It's called the "Mod Lounge"
