This kind of goes along with something Luzbel stated before I believe, but I'm not sure. I was talking with someone earlier about how the ranking page works and we kind of came up with this. Certain clans seem to have many accounts which aren't active and one or two people may keep them active by playing a grey once a week. However that solution could change and you could see the active Top 100 if you required one of a few things.

1) A time limit that you must be on per week (It would prevent many accounts that play one grey a week, however I understand not everyone has the time, but if you don't have the time to play then you aren't one of the top 100 active players.)

2) You play a game which either increases or decreases your stats ( i.e. a 1700 can't jump a 750 and have that count).

It's just been bugging me recently, tell me what you think..

Man I think those are really good ideas...I like the first one better. I hate seeing inactive accounts on the top 100 list because it makes me have a lower spot. xD

The second option would be absolutely ideal (the first one requires more data storage by the server which would only increase lag), but unfortunately it's not going to happen- certainly not anytime soon.

at least they may have to work a little for it? I'm just sick of seeing it the way it is, especially when certain clans have that one eprson that does it every week...we all know who it is..

I had a thought, perhaps I should have let it pass, but I won't.

People earned their stats and played many games to achieve a high statistical ranking. Therefore they should be able to do what they want after that. Is it really a big deal if the rankings aren't an accurate representation of the active players? Not really since it doesn't do anything.

You want to see a slightly truer representation of the best active players around today then the current rankings?

That data storage should not be organized at server side.

I think we may talk only about making an alternative Top List of LS like that Improved Top 100 List of LS
If that alternative one proves to be better, people begin refer to it.

Now about so called dead accounts

Definition: An account is said to be dead if it does not change its stat for at least 1 month

Examples: Click on the Final Justice, The Ass Kicker and so on top Judge accounts to see their history... those are the Top accounts.

So, the author of those Top Lists could be asked to implement the filter to weed out all dead accounts as an on/off option of the Top List.
But we have one bigger problem than dead accounts... it is boosted accounts. For example it is almost impossible to take a s/s of a game which takes 1-2 sec. One need to see IP of the opponents to tell boosting from d/c or random surrender of one of the opponents.
