Tourney Ranking Points

This is an idea or a ranking system that ties together all the the tournaments on TAO.

Basically this works the same way as the rankings in tennis. For every tournament you enter, you recieve a certain amount of points depending on how well you do. This way we can build a ranking of the top players on TAO

using this system, no one can be accused of boosting cause the points come directly from the tournament results.

For example, there is a furgy tourny this weekend. This can be the first tourney that counts for the ranking system. The winner will get 100 points, second 75, semi-finls 50 and so on.

Also, different tournaments, depending on difficulty and the amount of people that sign up, will give more points than others.

So what do you think?

kinda hard to regulate... but it may work... then again, i don't see much need for it. the winners are posted anyways.

Hmm, obviously points would have to vary depending on the magnitude of the event and the people who enter.

Very true, although I do like Ginny's idea; just find it hard to visualise and practice on TAO.

i like it too, some big tourneys like asters and others like grand slams..

There can be four major tournaments(grand slams) which give the most points.

All four of these will be stright brackets where losers get eliminated. matches are best 2/3

The Grand Slams: Dropless grey, Drops grey, Double gold turt, single gold freestyle.

Then you can have smaller tourney like the furgy tournament this weekend that will count for less. We can tryout the ranking system with the furg one and see what happenes.

I do not think the furgon race tourney should count for points.

May be kickass and all. But I think standard competitive play should be the only one that counts.

There would be 4 grands slams:
1.- Grey dropless
2.- Grey drops
3.- Gold freestyle
4.- Gold Turtle
