Ok, this month's October will be something that probably nobody is expecting.

Assignment!

The assignment of this month will be Tao player's related. You will basically have to make a signature as if you were making one for a forum member.

Grading:
This month every judge will vote depending on the renders, colors, backgrounds, effects, and because of the particular assignment, creativity. Important will be to create sigs that you feel "appropriate" for the player you choose. There won't be any bonuses or favor for making of sigs featuring any of the judges, as they will be considered the same as other entries.

*You are only allowed to revise your entry twice, if you exceed the limit you will be disqualified.*

All entries MUST be posted in this thread. There will be a different thread made for discussion. Judges will ONLY vote on sigs posted in this thread.

Here's my entry. I made it this morning for aza, I hope it counts because I really like it. Especially the colors, the lighting, and the text.
Strengths- As i've said before, the colors, lighting, and text. I think they all flow wonderfuly in the sig and it gives a good feel.
Weakness- No render, it can take away from the sig.

Well, I just finished making mine. Although I was a little dissapointed my Halloween idea went to waste, as soon as I saw the assignment laided down by Omega, ideas quickly popped into my head. The first however, was that I would make one for Jen. You should all know Jen, aka NIN, who took her game name from the band, ironically called Nine Inch Nails (NIN). Anyways, they are her favourite, besides the likes of Tool and other sweet bands, she has a urge to rape and have Trent Reznors babies. I personally think Reznor is lyrically a genious, and his lifes story is pretty interesting when you get into the details you wouldn't normally find on a random google search. Anyways, I made this for Jen, hope that if she sees it see likes it.



Strengths: At first glance the signature doesn't look anything special, and I'm not going to try and boost my ego, cause it isn't anything special. I used a simple smudging technique, which allowed me to keep certain parts coloured, while some other parts stayed darker, which was my intention. Trent Reznor has had a less then exiciting/perfect life, and alot of his songs have a dark feeling/mood to them, hence trying to surround him in dark. Then I used colour to make a sort of ripple from side to side. Also the text I used is a type of NIN fonts, so it of course went along with the theme and render, even the signature as a whole. Then I put the NIN symbol to symbolize it is for Jen. Then if you didn't notice the first time, scroll back up. The SOTM text is on Trents left breast, on his jacket. Pretty smooth eh? 8)

Weaknesses: Beyond the fact it isn't that great, I suppose how I cut the render was a weakness, I rushed it, but I tried covering up or moving the render around so you can't see the crappy parts. The render positioning may be another factor, although I do like where it is. Border isn't anything special as well.

Corrected some spelling errors. Also wanted to mention The Fragile is the name of one of NIN's CD's, as well as the name of a song off of it.

Ok, strengths-I did a good job on rendering and with the blending of it together.
And, weakenesses-The text never goes along with my siggys, that's a bad area, and the background isn't as good as it could be.

Well, after complely reading the assignment, I had to think for a moment. I wanted to do something for someone that reflected their personality the best. I decided to seek help from my shop, and see if I could use a request to use as my SOTM entry. So, I decided to make a signature for oxymoron, based off a render she provided me, and after a quite some time I finished. When I look at the signature I made, I see oxymoron all over it. The white angelic wing, that extends off the render's left arm, symbolizes her inner qualities. While the render itself, shows her outer qualities. Anyways, I feel it is a perfect match for oxy.



Strengths - At a deep analysis of my signature, I really feel that the effects of the render show the hard work I put into the signature. I improved on text and a quick comparison at my September entry shows that. The blending on the signature is fabulous. The patterns enhance the overall beauty of it.

Weaknesses - The background could use some work. Yet, I feel it is appropriate the way it is.
