I think the unit is already strong without the rebirth thing, and with it it will be a bit too powerful. When it's about to die you can just kill it with your Dragon Tyrant, Pyromancer or Dragon Speaker Mage. Otherwise, I just see the unit as a nice avatar unit or an anti Mage Bomb (or Mage Bomb extermination for that mattar). I just thought of this two seconds ago: shouldn't a bird be able to fly? If it does it should have teleportation.

Overall a pretty good unit I would rate 7/10.
