Yao has a totally different playing style than Shaq does. No one will ever be able to out-Shaq Shaq. He used to be the most powerful center in the league and one of the quickest. When double teamed, he could kick the ball out for the open jumper or hit cutters through traffic. He's also an underrated defensive player. Yao is more conservative...I guess. He can make the open jumper, but can't back a guy into the paint and throw it down and I doubt that he'll ever be able to do that. He's more of a finesse player.

I would rather have Shaq on my team, personally. He's just too good underneath and the other teams centers have to worry about him a lot more when I drive through the lane. I get open jump shots when I throw the ball into him because of the double team. Dunno. Just my opinion. Oh...and this would be Shaq in his prime of course.

About Yao and Shaq, I would have Yao for sure, no doubt. First of all, Yao is much much younger than Shaq. Also, Yao is a 90%+ shooter at the free throw line, and can really hit open shots. He's quicker than Shaq. His only problem is body size, weight. He already gained some weight, and still working on it. I mean, he's only 26.




Dwyane Wade usally plays Guard, but he plays forward in rare occasions.

You can't be serious...You'd take Yao over Shaq in his prime? Crazyness. No one can take on Shaq one on one, sometimes two on one, or even three on one. He's too strong and you underestimate his quickness. I've seen some pretty quick spin moves by Shaq to get around defenders. Sure Yao can shoot, but isn't that why we have shooting guards? Centers are supposed to be under the hoop. OH...and another thing. Why did teams come up with the hack-a-shaq strategy? Because the couldn't stop him from dunking on their centers late in the game. They had to give up fouls in order to keep two points off of the bourd. His only down side is his free throws.
