For you computer tech's

I think my computer just had a....seizure.

This happened to my other one as well, everything closed down (No longer a task bar, icons background etc.) and a blue screen came up (I would imagine it was the computer program...thing) and said failure hard drive wipe, memory erase complete.

So naturally I'm like WTh! and my finger shoots out to my computer reset button. So 1 minute later I'm back on, and here I am.

Same thing happened to my other computer like I said, and that one just kept on..turning on. Never really stopped.

Ideas?
Possible ways to fix it? The less money involved the better...

Hmm..causes? Any way to prevent some in the future? Any serious damage that can happen? Any way to fix it?...etc.

the cause could be a virus, update anti virus everyday...
not too much damage but your hard drive will wiped out when you fix it....
you would have to take it somewhere to get it fixed it is fixable thou...
my uncle fixed my computer so yea i'm lucky.

we need a bit more information to figure out what's going on.

is your computer plugged into a surge protector?
do you have anti-virus software installed?
do you have anti-spyware/malware/noobware software installed?
what operating system are you running?
when was the last time your operating system was re-installed? (if never, how old is the comp?)
what type of processor and RAM do you have? (go to start, then right click My Computer, then select Properties. it will take a few seconds, then come up at the bottom of the popup under the title "Computer:")
how much money do you have to give me?

if you installed iTunes 8, this may be the reason for the blue screen

the blue screen says "memory dump" - it doesn't mean your had drive is being erased or anything like that.

For now, just wait and see if you BSOD again, if you do then its a problem, otherwise its just a random microsoft gift.
