Google Chrome - Download a new browser

Thoughts on how google is entering the Realm already occupied by Mozilla, Microsoft, Apple, and Opera. Its a new product that's out in Beta right now, so don't download it if you don't feel comfortable running pre-release software that may contain bugs and such.

There are several new features that are in Chrome. There are also a hodgepodge of other features that are present in Firefox, IE7, IE8, and Opera all smushed into one. There's no saying who came up with what first, because this product has supposedly been in development for 4 years or so. It uses the WebKit rendering engine, which is what Safari uses, but it also has V8, a super speedy javascript engine. Each tab is independent, thus no more website-caused browser crashes - it only crashes a tab. It does not set Google as your default search engine, however, but clones the settings/search engine from your current browser.

Thoughts?

Definately worth giving a try, crashing tabs sounds fun

EDIT: Wow, using it right now, really quick, checked Task Manager; 5 times quicker. Looks like this browser has a lot of potential. My compy was very slow with IE but it is amazingly quick now. Love to see this program in a years time.

in its current form is not going to have any effect on the browser wars and unlikely to steal market share from either IE or FF.

A browser that doesn't crash would be a miracle. For me, IE seems to crash less than FF, so that's what I use on my home computer. I do run FF for U3 off my flash drive when I go to the library, just for privacy reasons.
