So anyway, I was lyin in bed watching TV one night, when the news came on.. The main story was as follows..

"A 16 year old boy, wearing a mask made famous by the band Slipknot, went to school brandishing a samurai sword and killed a fellow school mate, wounded another, and wounded two garden staff"

So anyway, the little punk says Satan made him do it and what have you etc etc.

Last night while watching a Documentary/discussion program on the incident, they covered a few points as to what might have been the cause..

At first they tried blaming Slipknot (lol) which has lyrics like "I wanna slit your throat, and ..... the world" (That was a quote bottle notice its dots and not anything offensive before you jump on your Infaction cycle and run my ass over)... Then they bamed satanism and had an ex satanist in the studio and they wuestioned him about what he thinks..

Which got me thinking..

If you're a little quiet kid at school and you get bullied or whatever, could that cause you to actually turn satanic?

I've been listening to slipknot for years and i've never had the need to go out and stab people

So i think it all boils down to what happens at home and the relationship parents have with their kids.

Slipknot responded saying "Our music has warning labels so we cant be held resposible" which is too damn right..

Eh i think i've lost the plot =/ haha. But discuss it anyway and give your opinions on the matter.. from human psychy to parental relationships and restrictions etc. the topic has alot to offer

ours is a bloodthirsty species. we were made to fight, maim, kill and die in our turn.

Yes, school bullying can bring you to a point where you wish to kill people. No question there.

Music is not to blame. Games are not to blame. TV is not to blame. It's an issue where the kid involved has been pushed to the brink, and this is how they respond. In issues such as these, there are 2 causes: mental illness and bullying of some form. The media and the well off parents just can't blame the kid, so they blame the things that he liked.

Well this stuff slightly annoys me. People are always looking for something to blame when things go wrong. It is very rare that they will just take responsibilty.
Yes the slipnot may have made him a little more violent but as Raxie said, not everyone who listens it goes around on a crazy rampage with a sword killing people.

Everyone gets bullied (especially with all the internet bullies! oh no!), it's how you deal with it that separates the normal people from the psychos.

People just need to learn how to deal with getting pushed around or getting crapped on. Either resort to humor, video games, ignoring it, or something else... preferably not samurai swords.

Bullying may be one of the causes of people going psycho, but it's not the only reason, and it's certainly not the biggest reason.
