Ballack should've been out of the game by halftime, he was ridiculous, nasty challenges and not going for the ball at all.

The yellow that Torres got was absurd.

The Spanish guy that gave the light head-butt should've been ejected.

Poor decisions all around, fortunately the better and deserving team won, and nothing the ref did or did not call changed the outcome of the game.

Germany has no defense Auron. The Germans aren't known for their ability to defend (see WWII).

Yeah I agree, my faveriot game was Turkey vs Croatia! That was amazing! The keepers did so well in this tourney, some really amazing saves!

Yeah that would have hurt a lot. It's happened to be lots of times, even once when i was reffing i didn't get out of the way in time. Most pain i've even been in my life.
Yeah i ended up going for germany too. Shame they lost, but i think spain probably deserved to win.

Yes the ref didn't do so well that game. I guess ballack probably should have been sent off. There were other challenges and desicions in that game that i disagreed with too. Being a ref myself just makes me see more.
I disagree about germany's defence. Firstly in world war11, they defended as best they could against the rest of the world. They absolutly tore attackers apart, making the cost for the victories for the allies very high. You know the kill rate was 1 german for every 2 allies? They were good fighters, there just weren't enough of them. In the end Hitler lost his head and made some pretty bad decisions that cost him the war. Did he really expect he would be able to take over the world anyway? He got pretty far though.
Anyway here I go off the point again. Germany can defend well. They have a strong defence. Perhaps not their best in this game, but over all i think it's one of their best attributes. I think the german attack is what's lacking.
Spain was just too fast, Germany couldn't equallise.

The reason Germany lost WWII was because they declared war on the USA, as smart as the Axis' were, their biggest mistake was to attack PH. They, like in WWI, bit up more than they could chew, and it was the resilience of the Allies that won the war. However, as much as I would love to talk about WWII, or ever WWI as a matter of fact, this is about football.

I personally feel that Germany were lucky to be in the final, they didn't perform against Turkey and neither did they perform tonight. The only thing that gets me, as in all major championship finals, is that the referee and his assistants, get a medal. I don't mind the assistants, but the ref, like everybody says wasn't that great to be honest. There should have been a red card during that face off, not just to the Spaniard who moved his head forward, but to the German who confronted him in the first place and then had the audacity to make it out that he had been headbutted in the eye!

Truth. He was just mad because Germany couldn't score any goals.
I seriously don't know why he got that yellow card. That was for no reason.
Yeah, it's basicly what Zidane did in World Cup 2006, but this guy head butted him in the face. He should've been thrown out of the game. I totally agree with that.

Yes, the refs sucked. Spain was the better team overall. The Germans didn't even try in the second half. They didn't play defense or that much offense. They looked like they were tired.

This is true, Axis definantly bit off more than they could chew by attacking Peal Harbour.
You guys are too hard on the ref at times. Do you have any idea how hard it is to see EVERYTHING? It's impossible. I know this from personal experience. Especailly things like that small head butt. Mostly i see them but sometimes i miss out, and if your linesman doesn't see it either there is nothing you can do about it. That's life, and i think it's pretty imature that people end up blameing the ref for the losses half the time, or just blaming the ref because they feel like it. Sometimes the ref DOES do a terrible job, but mostly he's just trying his best. People wonder why there aren't enough refs for soccer, so much god damned abuse!

One of very few games this tournament whereby the team that was best actually won. Many others had a lucky/undeserved/very late goal ruin the game. See Germany V Turkey. Or Spain V Sweden.

At least Spain deserved to be there.
