Feminization of Poverty

In english right now we are doing an assay about feminization of poverty. I thought I would post this thread because I am interested in what others think about it.

In almost every culture, the unemployed or under employed are more represented by females than males. Why are male laborers paid more than talented women? Why do more cultures allot more money and opportunity to males?

I am interested.

male chauvinism. We haven't completely reverted from the sexist ways of early America, so it's still generally viewed that a man has more "value" than a woman. Unfortunately.

Simple answer. You don't.

Why are most Rich and Famous People who get paid millions for doing sod all their whole life Female? Why do we have "It Girls" who have lived a life of luxury and fabulous riches and barely lifted a finger? There is no feminization of poverty. You're just not seeing enough of poverty to make a judgement on how Gender has an effect. I know of several poor homeless guys but no girls in my area, but I wouldn't be silly enough to assume that all poor homeless people are guys just because the ones I have seen are.

How is poverty personified in females? Like at all?
If you've ever been to NYC.. which gender do you normally see on the streets dripping grease?

Obviously you haven't much looked into this topic.

What FTM said, have you ever been to NY?

You really don't know what you're talking about, once again.

And unemployment =/= poverty. My mom doesn't work, and I'm not poor. Many women don't work. They have husbands that do.

Its illigal to pay men more than women for doing the same job. Wherever you got that information, you might want to report it to the authorities.

Many more positions are given to men in poorer cultures because the jobs tend to be very strenuous, like working in factories. Men are genetically stronger, and are given the jobs like working on assemby lines, while women stay hoem and take care of the children. Its how it is.

Thus nullifying your attempt at supporting your own argument in its entirety.I can guarantee that you will not see one homeless woman out of 200+ homeless in any major city in the US.

Fail.
