I recently found a new (free) online game that people might like. It's an American football simulation game whereby you create a player (much in the way of Madden Superstar mode, only not as good). You don't get to physically control your character, but his attributes are entirely yours to dictate.

Much in the way of TAO, you can pay to get "Flex Points", which are the currency used in the game. Each new character costs 200 FP, and each level up (claled Boosting) costs 2-300 FP, depending on your position. You start with enough FP to create a character and make him semi-decent.

You will then get offers from teams looking for players at your position. You don't have to take those offers, but if you don't take any, you'll have no money. No money means no training regime, and that means no improvement.

Every few months, there will be new CPU teams to buy. Teams cost 1,000 FP to buy, and once they're sold, there are no more until the next season.

There are forums which you can use to advertise yourself. You use your profile link to get recruited. The higher the level, the more skill points you get. The more SP, the better you are. So level up and get Items to boost the attributes of stats that are weak. Each position requires different levels of ability at each attribute. For example, you may not want your centre to have a pass rating of 50, but a tackle rating of only 10

It sounds complicated, but it's all pretty simple. Ask questions on the forum if you're stuck. New season starts in a few days, after which there can be no more recruiting until the following season! So sign up now, or you won't get a chance!

Oh, and jsut a thought - when new CPU teams are available, it might be nice for you to make an LF based team and see how that works out. Or not. Whichever

WARNING! If you decide to play, don't instinctively create a QB or WR...think how many of those there are. If you want your character to get pitch time (which improves them more than training does), make someone at a position that isn't overpopulated. It gives you the total players for each position for a reason!

Heh. Sure I'll try it. might actually teach me a little about Amerikhan Failball in the meantime. I couldn't possibly know less about Positions, stats and such so what would you reccomend I do in the way of a character?

Cornerback is easiest, IMO. Each team needs 4 minimum, so they're in demand, and there's not too many of them, and they're easy to build. I have a CB.

All the abbreviations can seem confusing, so feel free to ask.

A decent CB needs to have very high speed, high agility, high tackling and high vision. The rest aren't needed that much.

A CB, as I assume you don't know, is like a winger, in any other sport. He's a defensive player in the backfield who marks men running deep, but who is quick enough to surprise the QB (Thrower), and attack him before he realises (Called a CB blitz). Basically 2 main types of CB - Shutdown Corner and Speed Corner. A shutdown corner intercepts any passes his way, and deflects those he can't. Speed corners blitz more and try to tackle the recievers instead of going for intercepts.

Bit confusing. You following at all?

You'll notice next to your stats are two "trees". Blue boxes with words in. When you get a moderate level of stats, use these to focus on being a shutdown corner or a speed corner accordingly. For example, my CB important stats (as mentioned before), are all 17-20, so I put some points on the shutdown tree.
