Earthquake!
Have you ever felt an earthquake?
7 minutes ago, an earthquake struck Leeds! It was brilliant! Three pulses, with the middle one being the larger one. Only lasted about 18 seconds or so, and wasn't big enough to do anything but make my TV fall over and make the walls shake, but for a tectonically dead country, that was unreal! A once-in-a-lifetime experience! ![]()

I live in PA in the USA. Just about the least active place in the world tectonically. Oh well, sounds cool. I always have wanted to be in a smallish-moderate earthquake (magnitude 4-5 on the Richter Scale). Just wanna get a full body massage. :P

Nope, never happened here in New York. Although in Afghanistan, we always have it. Not massive ones.
Just here in New York City, we never had one. I hope one happens though, but not a massive one. I'm glad yours wasn't massive. Because they can get really dangerous.

Yeah, we're about as far from a plate boundary as we can get.
I've found out that it was felt as far west as Wirral, as far south as the coast, including London, and east as far as hull, but not as far north as Edinburgh. So I'd hazard a guess that it was a Pennine shallow focus event.

Yeah. Skyscrapers can fall. But I don't live in that part. I don't live near buildings that have 80 or more floors. I would like it to happen in my neighborhood. Just to experience it.
