Pawn
The Pawn
HPs: 60 Movement: 1 but only moves forward towards the enemy Power: 99 unblockable not reducible by armor Armor: 0 Blocking: 0 Recovery: 0 Attack pattern: one square in front to the left or one square in front to the right. The Pawn may only attack a square if there is already a unit in that square that is not protected by a barrier ward, and after the unit dies the Pawn moves diagonally into the empty square. The Pawn may not attack in the same turn as it uses its normal motion. You may only control one Pawn at a time. If the Pawn reaches the back rank, it becomes a Queen. If the Pawn was damaged upon promotion, the Queen is also damaged the same amount. The Queen HPs: 60 Movement: see "attack pattern" Power: 99 unblockable not reducible by armor Armor: 0 Blocking: 0 Recovery: 0 Attack pattern: one square diagonally, horizontally, or vertically from the Queen, any number of squares away, subject to line of sight. The Queen may not attack units that are protected by barrier wards. After attacking a square, the Queen moves onto that square. |

Recovery 0 is not an option in the game.. because the game is based on turns.. unlike chess.
With 99 unblockable damage.. it is too strong.. and even though it needs a specific situation for it to be able to attack.. it is still too strong.. especially that it doesn't die after it kills. The queen is just insane.. because it will kill a unit every turn.

Well no kidding, that's why it's in "junk."
Recovery 1 means that after you attack, on the next turn it says recovery 1 and you have to wait. Recovery 0 just means that you can attack every turn. This could be playable, though it's very powerful. The enemy's defense is to paralyze the pawn before it gets too close or put a unit in front of it so it can't pass, then kill it quickly. A n00b would probably lose his pawn in a second, though a good player could build a too-strong strategy around it. You'd want to keep the pawn alive until the endgame when there are fewer units to stop it, then push it forward. Yes, the queen is insane. With only 1 pawn the goal is to stop the pawn from becoming a queen. |
