Also isn't it supposed to be cavalry instead of cavelry? And I thought a cavalry consisted of more than one person that rode on horses not elephants.

The word cavalry can also be used to describe other mounted warriors (eg. camel riding troops such as the Roman Dromedarii of the eastern empire), althought the term is not strictly correct.
