war wizard
once again i am new here so if this has been talked about let me know rather then cussing me out, a unit i would like to see would be a war wizard. if anyone has read any fantasy books they probably have heard of terry goodkind and the sword of truth series. the main character would serve as a perfect example. for those of you that aren not as "nerdy" as me a war wizard is simply a wzard with both sides of "the gift" he controls both the "positive" and "negative" of magic, in easier terms good and evil. now where he differs from your standard wizard, he isnt a frail old man that relies soley on his magic. he is physically strong and is a master with a sword. the unit would be a character who is highly mobile and capable of dark and light magic attacks, and could take a beating. so what do you think?

well i didnt include any info like that because like i said i am very new to the game, i.e. i started two days ago. I still havent even seen all the units in the game, not even close. but since it was my suggestion i will see what i can come up with

Alright. If you need help with unit stats or balancing, check on the main page under..oh nvm heres the link to em' : Tactics Arena Online - Unit Stats
use that as a reference, and be sure to make your unit not overly powerful, make it usable, and make sure it DOES NOT summon another unit . |

ok i noted all the stats for the desirable human units. based on the character i have in mind i used the cleric, the knight, the lightning ward, and the dark magic witch. obviously the healing aspect from the cleric, the lightning from the ward, and the attack from the dark witch. so i started with the knight, toned down the hp, the power, and the armor, but added increased movement. next i took the cleric for his healing abilities, but i toned those down because my wizard can heal but hes not a healer so to speak so his abilities in that area would be minor. the only thing i used from the lightning ward was the attack, but once again toned it down. finally we come to the dark witch, which once again was toned down. the only thing i kept the same from the dark witch and the ward was the fact that they are unblockable. the "war wizard" characters strong points are not overwhelming strength, crazy abilities, or super summoning. the pros are the simple fact that he has more then one attack ability, which makes him very useful, a slight bit of armor, and he is good with a sword too. now the moment you have all been waiting for (yeah right) numbers.....
war wizard hit points, 40 power - sword 20, 10 healing, 20 lightning unblockable, dark witch attack 20 unblockable armor, 15% blocking 50%front, 20%sides recovery 4 movement 4 now i realize his power is great, but to balance it (sort of) i added a long recovery time. and also because of his strengths i would suggest he be a rare unit. so hows that??? |

How would you access all of these abilities? In my personal opinion, It has too many of them at high powers to be rational. X out the healing, and the dark magic witch, and we may have a compromise. Also, the blocking is a tad overpowerd for a wizard, even if he may have knight-ish qualities. Final verdict: overpowered, but nice. Give it a little more though, and you'll have a good unit

ok so we scratch the dark witch thing and the healing, take away the blocking like you suggest and then we have a wizard with a sword which is not quite the same as what i am suggesting. lol, so hows this for compromise. lets scratch the healing, and reduce the blocking to 30 percent front and 10 percent sides, the sword and the lightning are standard attacks, but when a friendly is killed he can become "enraged" and use the dark attack which would not be the toned down 20 but the usual 24. is that possible?

i had them in the works but this is next to my first post so i wasnt thinking about posting them first. besides i could have used a little help coming up with them. i didnt see any rules where stats have to be in the first post, is there one?
