How to take a Screen Shot

Here we go. How to take a screen shot.

1) Make sure the window you want to take the screen shot of it in the front of all others.

2) Hold the Alt key and press Print Screen key. This will take an screen shot and it will only be the size of the screen that you have in the front of all others. You do not have to hold the Alt key. **(If you do not hold the Alt key when pressing the Print Screen Key then the image will be the size of your Screen.)

3) Now open up a editing tool to edit and save the screen shot. Like Adobe PhotoShop, MSPaint or any other program you may have.

4) Goto file, then new, ok. Now left click and paste the screen shot.

5) Save the screen shot in a gif or jpg format and upload it to the internet for viewing.

You can upload your screen shots to Image Shack for free. Read and follow all direction on the page.

The Mac user....


Mac users. Shift+Apple+Space+4 hen click on the Window you want to s/s. Or Apple users(the coolest ever) may use the application Grab.

After you take a screen shot (that is already explained above) you can go to imageshack.com or walagata.com go there and register after you register go to HTTP Upload and then browse the screen shot you want ( you can do two at the same time) after that go to View Files and then click on the screen shot you want to view then scroll down it was say thumbnal URL:

Forum URL: (which is the one you want for forums) what you do is copy the link that is says for forum URL and paste where you want it on forums.

The Prnt Screen/ Sys Req button is in the red box and is usually located near the F12 button
So once you have this done go to
And go to Edit and you should see paste if it is grey this means you dont have the s/s and you cant press it you have to take it again

By now you should have the picture displayed in Paint now you have to save it by going down to file and clicking save or save as

Now that you have it save you can now host it perferbly at http://www.imageshack.us/ to host click on browse and fin your file saved on the computer


You might also recognize the host it button in the red box this is when you found your file and are now ready to recive the code
Now once the code is diplayed copy the code choose of either Hot Links for forums (1) this code lets you display the S/S in your post while
Hotlinks for Forums (2) is a Link to the picture wich will open a new window to show you the picture

Once you done with that just paste the code on your post/topic and your done!

Thanks to Gypsy for this short informative video of how to take a screenshot. The only bit missing from the video is that when he presses the print screen button (located to the top right hand side of your keyboard), the video does not show any recording of the screenshot being taken as the process is instantaneous.

look no further than shup!

what it does is sit in your statusbar, silently, and when you're ready, you right click the icon on the bottom right (green flame thing below), and then select "capture desktop" which is the same as the print screen button

then, it uploads your image on the spot to imageshack, photobucket, flickr, or your own webserver!

what's next? it automatically copies the URL of that image to your clipboard!!! - yes, that just saved you many steps including paint altogether

paste and you're done

First you take your s/s by pressing "Print Screen" on your keyboard. Which you already know how to do.



Second, use the "dotted rectangle" to crop what you want. Notice how I drew a box around the picture. Indicating that's what I want. You can do this around your game. So you do not get the whole screen. Simply then right click and select "Cut"



Click on "File" then "New" Not saving what you did. Click then on Paste. so you got only what you want. Then "File" "Save As" Specify the name you want and click save. For this example, I'm calling it "Example"

NOTE: REMEMBER to save it as a JPEG! That way it's clearer.



Then simply go to tinypic.com (Or imageshack if you prefer, I just prefer tinypic) Browse for your s/s and then click upload. Since you have not stretched it, and your only capturing your s/s, it will be big, crystel clear s/s.



Finally copy the url with the IMG tags for faster posting. Post your s/s and your good to go.

That is simply one of many ways of making it clear and how to post a s/s. Should of made a thread doing this but I do not care.
