Laptop Touchpad!

Hey guys.
I have this Dell latitude laptop (it's REALLY old..) with a disfunctional touchpad.
At random times, it decides to move my cursor towards one of the corners of the screen.
So the cursor does a dance along the screen, and when I move the mouse, my control is limited and as soon as i stop, it goes even faster.
I've tried to troubleshoot. I go into the Device Manager to disable the driver or whatever, and it's not there! It's like the computer accepts the input from the pad, but has no driver installed, no software that would allow it to run.
And it completely inhibits my activity on the computer! It's soo annoying.. i can't use my mouse until it stops.. and it rarely does.
Any ideas for what could be wrong with it? If i missed anything, just ask \=

1) its old, get ubuntu on it to fix it lol
2) (less lol) turn off the touchpad in control panel and use the purple dot between G and H

I DO have a wireless mouse ... which is why i need help disabling it.
Control Panel? Hmm.. i'll try that
EDIT: No luck. The hardware doesn't show up ANYWHERE..
