Animist(5 Yesses, 0 Nays and 2 Inactives)
Hey everyone. I'm quite happy at all the feedback I recieved from my last unit idea, so I wanted to post this unit.
This unit is 'out there'. No, really. It's crazy, and has a zero feasability. I understand this, but it's all fun and games anyways, right? So Here goes. Animist The Animist seperates tangible from intangible, and wages a war on a far different plane. HP: 44 Armor: 5% Blocking: 40% Power: 17 + Unblockable Range: Any one within 1 tile. Speed: 4 Recovery: 1M/1A The Animist has a second attack, activated by clicking and holding on the unit during the attack step, this attack is called... Spirit Call Range: All units within 6 tiles. Recovery: +4 When the Animist activates Spirit call, the gameboard is duplicated! There are now two screens on the computer, showing the current TAO game. One board is the regular board. The duplicated board is the Spirit Board. All units within 6 tiles, including the Animist, will also be duplicated on the Spirit Board. - Shrubs are also copied (Plant Spirit) - Wards are not copied (No spirit in wards) - All copied units on the Spirit Board start with FULL HP. (Even if damaged on the regular board) When it is your turn, you may take actions on either board. - You still only get 1 turn - You may split your move and attack between boards, or apply them both to the same board. - Changing facing on any board immediately ends your turn. Play on the Spirit Board works just like a regular TAO game, with the following changes: - Armor is reduced to 0. Effects similar to Stone Golem are useless. If a unit dies on the Spirit Board, the cooresponding unit on the Regular Board recieves the following effect: - +Spirit Death Units with +Spirit Death may not move, attack, change direction, or be directly controlled in any way. They do not count as End of Game units. - They do, however, still exist. (Side effects such as Dragonspeak will remain in effect.) - Spirit Death dosen't affect shrubs in any manner. If a unit dies on the Regular Board, there is no change to the cooresponding unit on the Spirit Board. Win, lose and draw conditions are only observed on the physical board. - I thought about this, and I don't think it's possible to 'lose' a game on the spirit board, and not the physical board. This clarification exists when there are no spirits on the spirit board, which can currently happen the way it's worded out to be. An Animist who uses Spirit Call on either board has a flop effect. First, all Spirit units are removed from the Spirit board, then all units in range of the new Spirit Call are placed on the Spirit Board. Spirit Call remains in effect even if the Animist is killed.

Re: Animist
Another well thought out unit.
So when Spirit Call is activated, a whole new arena is made? Or is it just a 6 range tiled area? Other than that question, this unit is great. Although I would think that Seed would have trouble working out the programming and such.

Re: Animist
sweet, but how would you be able to choose all those options in real-game. would seed have to put in like an option bar or something?

Re: Animist
What happens if a unit gets paralyzed on the spirit board?
Can the spirit dead block?
