cockatiels are not that expensive. Macaws are very expensive with some breeds going up to 12-$15,000. mostly hyacinth macaws... those ones are trippy looking. very pretty.

for a cocketiel, from a breeder you can rpobbly get one for a few hundred bucks. $150 for a good cage, $100 toys and portable perches at variaouse points. $15-$20 a month for a spread out diet. plus hours of snuggle time

most people think bird just sit in a cage all day but they are flock animals and they need companionship.

at a pet store you should be able to get a cockatiel for less than $100

cockatiels live to about 30 if thye are taken care of well. macaws can live to about 80-120 if they are taken care of well. macaws in the wild live to about 40.

They seem so playful and outgoing, I think it would be killer!

lol, for a starter you don't want a macaw. i would start with a cockatiel.
