Quantum Wizard

Quantum Wizard is a Schrodinger's Cat-type unit, with the ability to be in 2 states at once until observed (attacked). If you don't know what Schrodinger's Cat is, don't bother replying.

Recovery: 1
Power: 20
Hps: 40
Armor: 12
Blocking: 40%
Recovery: 1
Movement: 4
Attack pattern: knight

You may place only one Quantum Wizard on the board at a time.

Special ability: target a vacant square within 6 tiles: create a duplicate Quantum Wizard on that square. This second Wizard is an exact duplicate of the original one, including hit points and effects like armor bonus.

Waveform Collapse: If you control more than one Quantum Wizard, and any of them are the successful target of an attack or focus spell, all Quantum Wizards disappear except for the one that took damage or was the target of the spell. If more than one Wizard took damage or was the target of a focus spell on a given turn, the surviving Wizard is chosen randomly.

the whole idea of having units that can multiply is and has always been a big issue as in a no-no.....10 units (or 9 with the 2 unit dragon) is the max on the field and that'll stand

1. I don't care about arbitrary "rules."
2. Token units (shrubs) are currently in use and other ideas involving multiple or summoned units are commonplace in CAU
3. There is effectively only one Quantum Wizard on the board at a time. That's the point of Schrodinger's Cat: one cat, two states. Damaging any Wizard instantly removes all but one of them, so it's not as if you can build up an army.
4. Do you know what Shrodinger's Cat is?

1: shrubs cannot attack and are just filler peices
2: with multiple units that *can* attack - more of the field is covered by a possible attacking unit
3: why would i know what a shrodiginer's gat is......its not even in the firefox' dictionary

Maybe if you spell it wrong, it isn't in the dictionary. It's common knowledge and something you should know. The Wikipedia article on it looks fairly complete and not too technical

If, AFTER having read that article and having learned what Schrodinger's cat is, you think the unit is actually _unbalanced_ instead of just violating some arbitrary rule you made up, I'd like to hear it if you can be reasonable and polite and not contradict the unit's stats or make other factual errors.

the units are judged as they apply to tao, not how good they fit some cat.....

and yes, it is not in the firefox dictionary, i even copied and pasted it......

the cat being that concept has nothing to do with unit balance...

Well, it's not exactly a word so much as it is a concept, so perhaps Firefox can be forgiven.

The point is that the unit is balanced. You can create more opportunities to attack (the point of the unit--he can be an attacker and a defender at once, for example), but they all disappear if the unit is attacked. Killing 15 Quantum Wizards never takes more hits than it would take to kill him if he were just one unit.

You make up a new specie of cat and say if you don't know what it is don't respond? You obviously don't want responses for your units anymore.

Why do all your units change poor old empty tiles into something? Hills, mountains, bumps, magazines, etc...

dude

a) no multiplying, i dont care if they take damage, it be impossible to win/lose in rushes, especailly 6 tiles away, thats crazy.

b) no one will friggin care if they know what that means or not, they will still post and give suggestions and/or opinions regardless if there negative or positive
