LA's January Unit Challenge, '08

So, it is a new year, a time of new beginnings. I think for this months theme, Renewal. We know what to do by now...

Theme:
New Beginnings, Renewal, Rebirth, Resurrection and Regeneration, man lotta R's...

Rules:
Single Gold, Single Unit....

That's it, go wild.

well, 2 weeks into the month, and no posts, either everyone is on the pitfight, or they are tired of the challenge, eh...fun while it lasted I will keep it up i guess..for a bit longer n case ppl wanted to try...



Renewal....

Many Aeons ago, before the first blood was shed on TAO's arena, there was a wizard who traveled the lands in search of powerful totems...for casting his spells. Now one of these totems, was the Cup of Everlatsing life, and it was held in a Dragon Tyrant's keep. Yes they had DT's back then, Dragon's are an ancient species. The wizard of couse wasn't going to go waltzing into the Tyrant's nest and try to take it...that would be suicide. Instead he sought out a local warlord who lived nearby. Now of course, this warlord wasn't going to kill the Tyrant for no reason. The wizard asked the warlord for a nights rest in his castle, and was granted it, and at dinner that evening, began spinning tales of the Dragon's treasure trove, embellishing as he went. Now no mention was made of the cup, but of the many magical weapons instead.
The warlord of course took the bait and killed the dragon. The wizard took up the cup casually and asked if he could have it, muttering something about it reminding of his mother. The warlord agreed enthralled by his new sword, and the wizard went off happy.

Now as aeons have passed, the Cup has returned, along with one of the descended students of the wizard.

ChaliceBearer

Wears Chainmail and robes, holds a large golden cup in its hand. It is heavy and mace like.

HP: 40
AR: 12
BL: 40%

MV: 3
RG: 1
RC: 2

PW: 16

The CB is well armored, and and has decent power, though the damage it deals is the least of it's use on the hard stone floor. It strikes with the cup like a mace, and blocks in a similar manner.

Special: If a unit is in recovery, and is killed. If CB moves adjacent to that tile, the immediately following turn, CB may perform special and unit will be revived with 1/4 it's original HP, no recovery or focus, and blocking reset, facing is kept.
This may be done anytime the conditions occur. CB gains its 2 RC, plus the full RC of the unit revived. This can add up to a lot quickly. This cannot be done to golems. Units with Holy affinity, cleric, revive with half max HP instead.Wards Cannot be revived.

well, it ressurects, but it is not very powerful, it is a bit honor based, ie hitting a unit that is worn out/can't defend, maybe backhit is a better condition...or unblockable damage...something like that eh...

Relinquished

Attack: 18

Armor: 11

Hit points: 35

Movement: 4

Blocking: 40% in the front 20% on the side.

Attack Pattern: Like a knight exception of its special moves. Its special moves have a range of 5 all around it. LOS is included.

Turn wait: If The Relinquished Moves, it is 1 turn. If it moves and attacks it is two turns. Like the scout.

Special Move: Relinquished. This unit has the ability to surrender/relinquish its power to a unit. The Relinquished must pay 15 of its own hitpoints to do so. When it gives its power to the unit it gives half of The Relinquished's attack to the unit. In this case it is 9. The effect lasts until your next turn is over, so if you use it then you might have to attack with the unit you powered up or the effect was just a waste. This move may not be used on golems, wards, or clerics.

Special Move 2: This unit has a another ability that allows you to relinqush Armor not health armor. In order for you to use this ability the relinquished must sacrifice 20 of its hitpoints. The effect lasts for two of your turns. the Relinquished will relinquish all of its armor to the unit. When this ability is used The Relinquished must wait 3 turns. 3 turns in total. This special move can be used on any unit.

The second ability really helps out. It rejuvinates it in way. With the extra armor it reduces damage that is dealt.

Hopefully you like it. I pretty much bombed this unit. In other words I typed what came to my head.

This unit can be both defensive or offensive.

Phoenix: If you don't know what it is..Look it up on google or something. =p

HP: 38
Power: 24 (unblockable)
Range: Like LW.
Armor: 0
Movement: 5 (teleportation)
Blocking: 40%
Recovery: 3

Counts as two units.

Special abilities:
1) Does 30 damage to the mud golem. Since heat and light dries out mud..and the Phoenix's attack will involve heat and light it should do more damage to the mud.
2) When you place the Phoenix on the board it creates a nest on that spot. When the Phoenix dies an egg is created on that spot. After 5 turns, if the egg has not been hit a new, stronger Phoenix is hatched. HP is increased to 51, armor is increased to 16 and blocking is increased to 50%. A mud quake or poison cannot break the egg.
3) While sitting on the nest, the Phoenix will heal 1 HP every one of your turns for up to 5 HP.

This is my first unit evah! I wanted it to work well with the furgon.. I think its pretty well balanced...but I don't really know. xP

Oh yeah..It can't be used with a dragon.

New Beginnings eh? So can a summoning unit be used? Seems to fit in with that theme to me.

It's against the rules to have a revival unit. I owuld make one but I don't really understand the theme
