As i promised, i made the thread. So: I know that most of the forum is made of men and boys, and that probably nobody has a daughter yet (i do) but this is something that i'd like to discuss.

As you know (if you live in reality) today wherever you put your eyes you have a chance to see some kind of female nudity or, even if not nude, women in sexual attitudes. Nowaday 90% advertizements (in tv or outside tv) are made of very sexy women, not very dressed (sometimes just nude) who sponsorize their products. This kind of approach to the women's world got a lot of men in positions of power to see women even more like just an object to use for their pleasure. Today (in italy it's very common) most women looking for a job will find such men offering them jobs in exchange for sexual attentions. This is ending up having women population everyday more frustrated and forced to basically prostituite themselves in order to get a solid job.

In my opinion women today fell very far from what was the previous feminine generation who fought to earn their rights in the society and to get the same respect and dignity that was once only reserved to men. This was probably caused by the men always trying to get them as objects and to prevail on them, and a small % of the women population which chose to adapt and concede themselves in order to have an easier way to the top rather than fighting as they used to.

It worries me much seeing as i have a daughter and as older daughters of some friends of mine at the age of 13 already lost virginity and whatnot.

Not so many years ago women fought to have the right to become judges, to be in the army, to have access to politics and so on. Today the dreams of teenage girls is often that of becoming a model or use sex in order to earn a living.

Women (in the work place) have always had these problems. In fact, in the US, it has lessened due to labor laws preventing outright sexual harassment.

I don;t think the % of ads with scantily clad women are as high as you have mentioned, at least not in the US. I think maybe you notice them more often than not, simply because you are aware of the situation.
Also, when it comes to print advertisements, it depends on what source you're looking at. Ads geared towards 18-30 year old men will lean heavier on this type of ad. Magazines for the more matured male often will be more about "tech toys" than sexy women. (especially those geared towards rich older males)

People complain that "young girls" are losing their virginity earlier than before, when a 100 years ago those girls would be married and already have a family of their own a lot of times.

As much as people say that overt sexualized imagery of women puts women down, the ones that are being photographed (in the mainstream) choose to do so, and often earn a very good living doing so.

Let me attempt to answer the question in full with observation in truth rather then political correctness.

Based on attributes solely on race men tend to act rash or quickly, while women tend to think more about long term impacts and nuture. This is on a large scale and vary widely agreed upon. Individuals of course can vary.

Because men of rash action, and their being a history as hunters and womens history as nurturing their children, Men took power claiming superiority. Another note is on the wide scale Men have an athletic advantage, look at the Olympics for example, where the times of Men on a larger scale are better, even at the elementary level in PE to receive awards men have to score higher then women. I mentioning these facts purely to establish in the large scale men are more athletically equipped.

Through brute power and rash action Men at the beginning were able to take dominant leadership positions. Now what are the basic needs/wants of humans? You can include reproduction/sex as one of them. Being leaders by force of a group of Men were able to have women as they wished. Slowly we are corriding this way because we are no longer ruled by the strength of the human fist but more day by day of ingenuity and technological and intellectual abilitites.


On another issue why are women demeaned? Well there is of course porn industries for both sides. You can't really stop that, and it was really inveitable. As long as there is good pay and money for those desperate, wanting attention, or need for work its going to be there. There are many commercials of men scantly clad as women. I think its a social trend in and out for since about forevor to dress risky for attention from the oppossite sex. Because Men are still the leaders in most business's hiring women more-so from sex appeal would occur more then women hiring men.

As far as sex at early ages each country has its laws. Howevor when certain bodies/people have reached puberty, it is only natural. It is the same as eating and sleeping. In order for us as a species to continue it must occur. It shouldn't be something viewed as bad or negative. You can blame traditions for this such as in some countries women were not even suppose to "enjoy" sex, because they were suppose to be beyond that. The obvious reason against sex at early ages is that there is a risk of pregnancy but thats kinda the purpose. But its also known that women go through puberty or reach there full body size quicker then men. The better way to solve pregnancy problems is not to discourage it, because that won't stop vary many people, instead to make sure they are aware of forms of birth control and std's.

Italy is very screwed up. I feel you are over exaggerating this point, so let me get this straight, in Italy, it is common...sorry, VERY common...practice for women to sex up bosses for jobs? I refuse to believe that.

Men like seeing adds with hot women in them. Hot women like being stared at by men. It's as simple as that. If that causes normal women to hate their bodies, then it is obviously their poor self image to blame, not anything else.

People can blame the all powerful "society" for any problem. Society isn't naturally evil or good, it just is.

There is nothing bad or wrong with porn and prostitution. Prostitutes have been there since the ancient times and porn is just a new way for the same thing. What is wrong is if you make porn public by using media to have women look like sluts.
