As a leader who sends many random invites, and as a person who has been invited to many clans... I think there is no problem with this. Leading a successful clan is very challenging without reputation or skill. You have to improvise, and random invites have gotten my clan(s) much farther than I ever could have gotten without.
Yes, random invites does lead to many newbs, several noobs, and a few angry vets. But these can all be handled quite well. You got to be able to type /expel quite quickily sometimes. The invites can't be all that annoying. ~Tarik (You know, I bet I've sent the most invites out of everyone. Eh, maybe not out of everyone, but still)
