THE Netjak Thread

I'm sorry my Netjak members, but I am leaving. Zad, Rag, and Stiv and the rest of CK convinced me so much to come back... and I finally did. I still love Netjak but I just don't think I was ready to go "NoN".

Sorry Respect and every other netjak member. I'll still be keeping *Usm* in Netjak, if that is ok?

Even with leaving on my main (Machiavelli), I'll still be in Netjak.

Wait a minute. If all my accounts were really "mine" i would stay in netjak and convince all of you to be there ( wich i tried ¬¬). All "my" accounts are really owned by Muchieko_24. Zadico has the same power over them than me. Because of that i couldnt be a NON.

. I'd say tactics make just 1/3 of the game, unless beginners are playing. (Rest is strategy and pre-game preparation, that is opening theory, knowledge of typical middlegame structures and endgame stuff)

I wouldn't say it is as little as 1/3rd. In chess, after you make a move you think "ok, if he does this, then I'll do that. If he does this instead, then I'll do that instead". You have this in TAO, but you also think "ok, I'm going to attack that guy. If that sucka blocks, then I'll do this. If he doesn't block, then I'll do this." Unfortunately, people don't think about the consequences if your opponent pulls off a lucky block or hit. They get wrapped up into a different mode of thinking: "Ok, I'm just not gonna think about what will happen if that sucka blocks, cause I'll be screwed." That's like in chess thinking "Ok, I'm going to go here, but if he sees that devastating counter-move then I'm screwed." You should always assume that your opponent will see every good move. You should always assume that lucky blocks and hits will happen and plan accordingly. I usually test my luck to see if I can afford losing the luck game - or if I'll lose unless I get lucky. For example, my opponent strikes my knight with lightning and he's got 12 health left. I look at the board and there's no way he can kill that knight except from a front hit without block modifiers (20% hit). I look at the board and think to myself that I'm winning. He just might be desperate enough to try for that knight kill. So I heal with my cleric. My opponent tries to hit the knight anyway and connects. He mentions that he's amazed he got the hit. "That is why I healed", I said.

I've always said it, and I'll say it again. "You don't lose your games cause of luck unless you make mistakes." Now, I'll also add "but luck can help you win games if you screw up." Sometimes, I consider myself lucky if my opponent doesn't see a smart move in chess.
