But while I agree with you logically that golds have potentially more versatility in their gold sets than grays, they are more stuck on a few similar sets than grays are. The NJ rush is particularly overused - and for good reason. After all, my gray set has many things in common with the NJ rush. Good rush when same side, lots of offensive power, and plenty of defense.

That's no fun.. But your set isn't all that unusual. Not much different than a center drops grey set. Or my NJ rush anti. You should have played a little less agressivly as I had range advantage allowing me to use my frost better than you could.

Grey: Corner Turts, Center turts, witch bombs, center rushes, side rushes..

Gold: Side rushes, corner turt, center turt, mage bombs, center rushes.. the rare anti...

but in gold there are units that have more options than in grey.. like the dragon. GA's. Stones. Wisps. Zerker. DSM. All are used, some more rarely than others. This allows for more variablity in the game. When determining what your opponent is going to do next there are more options for him in a gold game than a grey.

About the whole grey vs. Gold thing I do believe myself that Grey is alot easier to play than Gold. I have played many golds before on my Grey Default account and cleaned the board with their stupid butts. Then I have played the same golds using borrowed gold accounts and gotten wiped out. So for me it is far easier to win with a grey than it is to win with the gold.

We aren't disagreeing with each other. I've admitted that gold has logically more potential for more varied sets. Considering as the gold has the gray units + gold units, this is an obvious conclusion to come to. But in practice most golds go for typical sets.

You made a statement that sounds like you're disagreeing with me but use evidence that supports some of my theories. Golds are used to playing golds. At least, most of them. Usually it is only sucky golds that play grays on a regular basis. You are used to playing as a gray, so it makes sense that you had a tough time making your gold set work for you. That's double disadvantage. I didn't win my first few games as a gold either. But then, I was using mask's stone turt in freestyle against good golds. Once I ditched all the gold units except the dragon and invented my own set, it went much easier.
