Thats a lie, you're the one with the thin skin. If you hadn't noticed AFO hasnt been serious the whole time. But somehow Mask got here and then when it was resolved, stupid lemon decided to post.
Now that I think of it, AFO hasn't ever been serious since Anja broke up with him ^.~*Poor Guy Problably Needs a Hug*

You're just mad because Kareem Abdul Jabbar got outshined by Magic Johnson in the showtime era.

Sorry I'm a little late to drop in on this bit of conversation. I saw a couple comments in here that I want to disagree with.
1) It is harder to play gold vs gold than Gray vs random Gray
Ok, let's say joe user is a good gold. He plays all the good golds. He doesn't jump grays. He always challenges golds. He does well. But look at his competition. They're all the same. They are all golds. Most of them use typical formations like the NJ rush or stone turts or DSM bombs. You think this takes more skill cause the playing field is always even. But I say it takes less skill cause there's a certain consistency in the opponent formations. Corner sets are usually nj rush or stone turt. Center sets are usually DSM bombs. Eventually you use all the same strategies against them all. Whoever develops the best strategy wins. It becomes much like chess.
Now, let's say jack user is a good gray. He let's himself get jumped by all types of players from smart to stupid, dropped to dropless, gold to gray. It takes some serious versatility to take down all those types of players. He has to design a set that can do well against any type of set. He frequently can't rely on memorization and past strategy. He has to think on his feet. Adapt to any situation. That is a difficult thing to master. This is what I am trying to master. Lately I've been doing pretty well. I got back up to 1600+. But then I played a gray who used a variation on the bomb twice yesterday and lost both times. Usually bombs don't beat me, but his was really tough for me. But you don't see big time grays using bombs. If I only played against grays with my drop level, I would have more stats. I would lose less frequently. Then take earlier in the week. Some guy jumped me with a dropless set. The set was totally out of control. There was no rhyme or reason to it. But he very nearly beat me. He laughed in my face. I told him that I would do better against a real set. He didn't believe me, so he got on his frost turt. It happened to be same sides. He surrendered without killing a single unit. Why? Cause I know how to play same sides vs frost turts with my set. I've done it too often. I know what moves to make.
2) Show me one active gold player in SI that's any good
Show me one good (1500+ capable) active gray player in SI who can't play gold good. Let's take me for example. I got access to Si-Leaders. I invented a new set. Then I went up against the likes of *ZADICO*, The Prophet, Darkness, and others. I win more than I lose. Perhaps they just weren't used to going up against strange gold sets. But they weren't push overs. I'm a Strategic Insomniac. I don't care if I'm playing gold, gray, dropped, dropless, turt, rush, or anti. I might be better with some sets and styles than others, but regardless what you make me use, I'm going to be good. My strategic and insomniac skills don't disappear just because the units and arrangement has changed. Anybody who is 1500+ capable as a gray can boast the same.

Um. Once agian.. no one is fighting. I enjoy my maturity being at a lower level as it makes things a lot more fun. I was never being harsh... simply trash talking in a joking manner. Being a NJ Leader really has nothing to do with this conversation.
Just because you all can't take a few words does not mean that I'm acting inappropriately. After all.. this is our thread.

I was the grey that ya lost to. ;)
And I've played for so long that I basically have a game plan for every set that I see. From my experience the actual game play in gold games will have the most variability involved.

Hmm, yes I remember the okward set you had. It worked out pretty well, and I was totally clueless :P.
Luck was hardly a factor either, I just got outplayed because i didn't know what to do. Your completely right about playing variety of sets makes it harder, but then again, not everyone has the drops that you have( Well, your set has) (2 BR's, 2 Frosts, Mud)
For example, I have 2 frosts and 1 BR. I rarely beat golds because Instead of having an extra rushing unit, i have a LW which can't move. I actually have more trouble against your grey set then most golds. There is too much range to take care of. Then again if you think about it, your one of a kind. Not many greys would have the guts to go against anyone especially with disadvantage in units. If I ever do get a grey with your drops, I probably will do the same thing.

Yeah, I specifically didn't include you in my list of good golds. It was cause I'm still hurtin' from when you completely outplayed my center gold set with Netjak Leader. Obviously, you are more than capable of adapting to unusual situations. Kudos where it is due.
But while I agree with you logically that golds have potentially more versatility in their gold sets than grays, they are more stuck on a few similar sets than grays are. The NJ rush is particularly overused - and for good reason. After all, my gray set has many things in common with the NJ rush. Good rush when same side, lots of offensive power, and plenty of defense.

Darkness darkness darkness... Do you realize that I wrote my previous post twice? The first time I wrote it I figured I was bragging too much. I've got a pretty big Ego, sir. That's a very small step away from arrogance. You're not helping. The forums aren't big enough for two Bottle's. Besides, you're making me blush.
