Default vs. Witch Rush: 7 to 2 win.
Man, I wish I had a screenshot of the beginning of this battle so y'all could see the glory.
So LegendaryKiller came in with a front line like this: ___ASWWWMWWPK__ And nothing behind that at all. I was playing the default form. For some reason, I keep hearing that the default is weak against witch rushes, and I don't understand. I got first move; I walked my right Knight up and smacked a Witch in the face. He walked his left-from-Mud Witch around and nuked my Cleric. Second move: I walked up a Pyro and burninated all three right-side casters (killing one). He walked his remaining (injured) right-side Witch back and blasted my advanced Knight. Third move: I walked up my other Pyro and blasted his Scout and two right-side Witches. He advanced his Pyro and burned my Witch/Assassin combo. From that point, I don't remember exactly what happened when, but I know that he concentrated his effort on my Knights and managed to kill...one of them. The only other unit I lost -- my Assassin -- I used to nuke his one Knight so that I didn't have to wear it down. The result: he quit when he realized that he had moved his Scout and Assassin both within range of my Enchantress. To his credit, all but one of my units was within one Scout shot of death -- but it wouldn't have mattered. He didn't have enough total HP left to deliver a deathblow to each of my units and still surivive those that remained. ![]() So, while I admit it wasn't against a stellar player -- how many stellar players play Witch Rushes anyway? ;P I just wanted to stick out there into LF land the idea that default doesn't suck against a hardcore witch rush -- you just have to pretend you have no Cleric. Because you don't.

Congrats. Sounds like he needs to learn how to finish off and prioritise, but still, impressive to beat him considering the sets. I actually beat the original RAHAN(not the guy that has the name now) with the default against his witches. It was for great justice. Abandoning your cleric early is a move for only 100% badasses.

Hmm. I can only say good things of a set that uses all available damage spreading units to a Dropless, no Wards and apart from the Cleric no point where you can hit mor ethen one unit at a time with a Witch. Default is most certainly nice against Witch Rushers.

GJ. The default form is great against witch bombs. Units in the default set are well spread out, and mostly in the back rows. Witches are almost useless against the set except for killing the cleric.

The reason why the default is great against witch bombs, is because of its 2 pyros. If you pyro all 5 of his witches, then one hit from anything kills them. Also, he should have focused on your wewakeer units first, examples: witch, pyros, cleric, chanty. Then he can tear apart your low hp knights when all his witches are dead with his high hp knights.

Stralms is right, but in conjunction with the fact that the witches can only hit 1 unit at a time, negating their greatest threat.
Incidentally, if your first move is simply advanced the knight 2 spaces, the witches will spend a minimum of 4 turns to kill a knight and cleric. In that time you can kill up to 6 enemy witches if they're positioned correctly. |
