GIMP: Wait, What?

Ive just downloaded the newest version of GIMP and I have no idea how to use it. I've seen it coming up as one of the free imaging software packs online used for making signatures. I do know that David did a tutorial how how to make a banner but i had no idea what he was talking about. Could somebody please explain the basics of sig making using GIMP and explain a few things like rendering and how i use all the brushes i downloaded. Please help me

P.S: Please dont tell me ive posted in the wrong section as i didnt know where else to post it

search for gimp tuts - it takes a while to learn

i guess shatt didn't consider me part of the golden age

oh well. i was never that good anyway...

gimp sucks. i suggest you request banners from others instead of using gimp.

I'm pretty sure there are several GIMP faqs floating around. Of course, if you familiarize yourself with the common tools, such as the ones used in Paint, you'll have a quicker learning curve with GIMP.
