Signature Size

Please be aware that maximum banner size allowed is 200 pixels tall x 600 pixels wide. The odd pixel will be allowed, provided it doesn't make people side-scroll, but having a half/full-page signature wastes bandwidth and time when scrolling through threads.

This includes not just a main sig, but any userbars you use too.

Mods have given out many warnings/infractions lately for signature violations, and it really is avoidable. Please think before you decide to use a sig that's the limit, then add multiple userbars, quotes and text under it. It really isn't needed.

As a general rule, if your whole signature is longer than the width of 4 fingers, you need to reduce it. I don't count pixels, I go off fingers.

Finger size can vary, remember? Prophet and I discussed this in October, and he gave a pixel size instead. Because my sig at the time was five and a half of his fingers, but easily four of mine.

Yes, but I judge signatures by fingers and my fingers remain a constant width.

I'll be judging on pixels, and also be judging the 200 pixel length more than the 600 width, unless it is out of control.

Hmm, no one really enforces the length rule. I mean one line of text take well over that amount, so many people including Bottle would be breaking that rule. I think it should just be changed to say that your sig should not force side scrolling.

Why is it not just so that u cant go over the limit? Make it say "too big" when they go to try to put it in there.

Side-scrolling depends on personal screen resolutions.

Text word wraps around each line, so text should not influence the width rule.
