PG13 WARNING: This thread contains language not appropriate for the forums. However, this has to be posted somewhere so that nobody can say they were unaware of the rules.










The following words are unacceptable:

Fuck
Shit
Pussy
Twat
Bitch
Cock
Asshole
Dick
Penis
Fag
Faggot
Cunt
Wanker
Bastard
Skeet
Goddamn or God Damn

Furthermore, any words that are racist, xenophobic, sexist, or offensive to other religions will not be tolerated.

Neither will sections of these words being bleeped out (eg. f***) be allowed, as the implication is still there. This includes acronyms such as "WTF" and missing letters, like "ahole"

If anyone else can think of any other swear words that I have missed, please PM an admin. Do not PM me asking why words are on this list. The list was complied by the admins, not me.

The result of anyone using these words will be that their posts are editted by the mod team to remove any offensive comment and warnings or (more commonly) infractions will be given.

There is simply no need for language of this type on the forums. If you see anyone else using foul language, don't hesitate to report the post and it will be dealt with. We try to check all threads as much as possible, but there is always a chance we miss things like this.

Recently there has been a lot of debating about certain words that should or should not be on the list, or censored. Examples of this are at the bottom of this post. Words of this type can be offensive to certain people, and are therefore not recommended for common use. While their use will not result in an infraction or your post being editted, the administration does not condone this sort of language.

However, if used in an aggressive and/or insulting context towards another member of the forum, you will receive a warning or (for repeated offences) an infraction, and your post will be editted. Repeatedly insulting other members is against the forum rules.

This ruling is the ruling of the administrative body and not my personal opinion on the matter. If you have any problems with the content of this post, please contact an admin to discuss it with them. Please also stop negging me for this thread. Just because I posted it, doesn't mean I set the rules.

The (non-exhaustive) list of words includes words such as:

Gay
Lesbian
Queer

This needs to be bumped. People need to read this thread. Particularly the bit concerning starring our words. I'm sick of changing ~5 posts each time I'm on. At least one per thread, and at least 3 per day. If people learned to read, we'd avoid the problem

People also should be aware that quoting the language is as bad as typing it yourself.

I'm lenient, but you guys are taking the piss. Because you know I won't infract for language that's not OTT, doesn't mean you start starring words, or slipping words in. Cut it out. Or I'll be like the other mods and whip out the infraction-gun.

Double post - I don't care.

Flash, Oxy and I are all lenient when it comes to language. We edit posts, not warn/infract, as other mods do instead/aswell. From now on, we're not being so lenient, because you lot are taking the piss. All these "WTF"'s, and profanity regarding the IROK/Jonspen/Dape case, will not be tolerated. Read the bloody rules, or you'll be punished.

This thread warrants another bump after today's events. Read what the language rules are and who has compiled them (it isn't the poster).

This list makes it very easy to enforce the language rules, as it only takes one glance to this thread to determine whether its allowed or not. Didn't want your post to be edited, or that shiny badge to be added to your CP, then you should have read these rules and followed them. They're not rocket science, but rather stone age and carved firmly in stone. Write them and you accept whatever happens after the word is typed. It's right here.

Don't like the consequences, then just pick alternate words and the problems go away. It's not that hard. Don't come up complaining to the world that you got warned or infracted for using words on the list. There is no excuse - there's a list.

The above post by Phoenix does explain that many instances are edited rather than infracted, however the more that an individual says the words, the more likely they'll be warned, and once they're warned the chances of an infraction are much greater, as they clearly know what the regulations are due to their previous warning of the language type. With a previous infraction, another one for the same reason is quick to follow should another post appear with the content in it.

This needs bumping. I've gone on an infraction spree lately because you all keep violating rules.

Remember - Quoting language violations makes you just as liable.

In addition, re-read the word list and the stipulations, everyone. Because a lot of you are saying "fag", "bitch" and "bullshit" increasingly. Lying about what words are when they're starred out is inexcusable. Read the rules.
