What you know 143 languages, i didn't know it was that many.

i know arabic and english.
in school im learning french and german.. but you know how much you get taught in school.

arabic was my first language so it wasn't hard.. however i still learn the complete grammar because in arabic there is proper arabic and arabic that different cultures speak slightly differently. (some words are different and pronounciation is different.)
to be perfect in grammar in arabic is very hard indeed.
^^the following says the above sentence: ان تكون ممتازا في النحو شيء صعب جدا ^^

english is my second one and i learnt it with the help of school and my parents. anyway, i still need to learn a HUGE amount of words.. my vocab is propably average or below average.. not bad though fortunately.

promotion thread has become the language/grammar thread overnight!

lets move it to the language thread thats somewhere in the off topic section

as for grammar in a language, yes its hard to get all that down, but there is little excuse for spelling, for in order to use words you need to spell them

as for the simple grammar, there is no excuse for either, like the is man the, is not a sentence obviously. Learning a language is hard, but for people who can type and understand all that goes on in the forums s houldnt' have that much trouble, for when i took spanish, by the time i could actually read the books and literature, grammar was little of a problem - although there were still cases - the harder stuff

the easy stuff - shame, the obviously complicated problem - slide

now how bout those promotions....which this topic is actually about

red is right guys, if you going to speak languages you should at least talk about the promotion thread.

I think this thread has served its purpose. If you have any questions about the promotions system you can PM a moderator. Just note that to get light blue you need either 2000 posts or 150 rep. Once you get light blue, a more complete list of promotions can be found in the private section.

Requirements for the promotion system have been upgraded. Details about the changes are in yellow in the first post. If you were in a promoted user group and no longer met the requirement, your account was demoted.
