Profile spamming

I've seen a large number of visitor messages posted in other users' forum profiles recently that are pure spam. Examples being endless "."s or people saying "nooooooooooob" (with many more "o"s).

It appears that people think that just because it's not in the public forums, spamming is allowed.

Let me put you straight on that: IT IS NOT.

Anyone spamming another user's profile will have the messages edited or deleted and will receive a standard 8-point infraction as with any other spam in the forums. For repeated offences and/or malicious spamming, a temporary ban may be given.

I ask everyone to please report any such messages whenever they see one, as we cannot check every single member's profile every day.

Question: So you're infracting people before this announcement that have spammed user profiles? Or are you just giving warnings to people who have done it before this?

And from here on out it is an 8 point infraction.

This rule has always been in place, but the sheer number of people breaking it meant that I felt that a thread was needed to attract people's attention to it again.
